We help adults with reading, writing, spelling and math, along with essential skills and computer basics. Anyone over the age of 19 is welcome to join our FREE learning programs. Some students prefer to work on their own while being guided by a trained staff or volunteer while others like the comfort of learning in a small group. We customize it to your needs



We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual for the position of Executive Director.  You will lead a small team in the provision of literacy services to adults in the Orillia area.


Primary responsibilities include:

Develop and oversee the daily activities of ODLC;  interact with the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and other area literacy agencies to develop an annual business plan and ensure reporting and survey requirements are met; investigate and implement high-quality fundraising opportunities; attend all Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting; prepare reports and agendas in collaboration with the ODLC Board. Implement the organizational policies and procedures. 

Preferred Qualifications include:

An acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (CRV/VSC) is required for this position at the incumbent's expense, prior to the employment start date.

Starting salary for this position will be $25.00 per hour.
